Adhesive Bonding

Adhesive Bonding has seen a rapid increase in popularity in the past decade as new materials and composites are being introduced into many manufacturing processes.  Adhesive Bonding is often the ideal method for joining components or materials that may not lend themselves to traditional joining methods such as welds, rivets or screws.  With the development of new and advanced adhesive systems, bonded assemblies may offer significantly stronger joints that exhibit greater uniformity in the distribution of stress factors.  These bonds may also be cleaner and lighter that traditional joining methods.

 

Housed in our new 40,000 square foot, state of the art facility in Enfield Connecticut, PTI maintains 2 Controlled Contamination areas (CCA’s) strictly for the purpose of Adhesive Bonding.  Additionally, over three thousand square feet of assembly area is dedicated to staging, preparing and processing bonded parts.  Seven curing ovens, with part size capability up to an 84” cube, allow us to process even large parts for our customers quickly and efficiently.  PTI maintains seven dedicated blast cabinets solely for surface preparation and adhesive flash removal, again giving us the ability to quickly move parts through the bonding process.

 

Added to our facility, is a team of dedicated and experienced Bonding Technicians and one of the largest rotating inventories of certified adhesives and support materials in the North East.  Our exceptional combination of facilities, technicians and inventory make it clear why PTI has become one of the premier Bonding facilities in the country.
